Cnidus - Datca

After breakfast the boat sails across to Knidos (Cnidus). Knidos is in a fantastic location at the very tip of the Datca Peninsula, with twin harbors; one opening to the Aegean Sea while the other to the Mediterranean. With that strategic location on the ancient shipping routes it became one of the most famous and richest cities of antiquity. Knidos was also a cosmopolitan city and home to many famous artists and scientists of the times; famous mathematician, astronomer, physicist, architect and legislator Eudoksos, doctor Euryphon, famous painter Polygnotos and the architect of Lighthouse of Alexandria (one of the seven wonders of the world) Sostratos lived here. After lunch the boat sails along the coast to Datca town, and moors in the harbor or nearby for diner and the overnight stay.
